One month ago I've buyed two LD MAUI 11 G2. Now, after some gigs, I can say that they are really wonderful: I've used internal mixer to connect a TC Helicon "mic mechanic" for my partner, my Pa4X was connected with a balanced cable, we didn't use any monitor neither support for speakers.
Former setup: mixer, subwoofer, two satellites, support, cables and 45 minutes for setup everything. Now: one or two LD MAUI G2 (it'd depend from size of audience), cables and 10/15 minutes at maximum. Moreover: sound is lot better in every details, the closest people didn't complained for volume, farther people listened perfectly...
Wow, it's a dream. |

I agree.
I use the Maui 28's and they are versatile, can do small and large gigs, sound amazing, low feedback, no monitors needed, easy to move and setup, and I paid a reasonable cost for mine. _________________ Pa5x, Yamaha Genos, ForeScore |

I have Maui 5's, and for the size venues I play they are perfect. They are about half the price of the two Bose Compacts which they replaced in my setup!
I can only imagine how wonderful the larger sizes sound! _________________ DonM |

I just bought a pair of LDmaui11 G2.
Used to work with Ld maui11 Mix model, and they worked fine.
G2 starts limiting under the same settings, don't know why...
i used to play Mix model as follow:
main inserts =full
main out=full
sub= +5 /+10
worked great ,with huge headroom.
G2 limits under the same settings, don't know why.
all settings in my UI126 mixer are the same, signals are normal, nothing more than +0db,works great with other speakers too, like DXR15,DXR12,DBR10,Mackie Thump 15,EV ZLX ,etc...no problem,no limiting at all .
Now, with G2, i had to use a compressor to remove some drum kick punch so it does not limit, but still it limits sometimes by the voices.
Headroom i supppose is ok if you walk 5-10meters away, but next to the band,it feels weak comparing to DXR15.
Redfox, how do you use yours ? _________________

I use a XR12 Behringer mixer to connect Pa4X to Maui, I use "stereo setup" and I don't remember listened any volume limitation: but... One week ago one of my subwoofer has broken, I've opened it and I've found that amplifier is one SGS Thomson microelectronics TDA 7294 (see datasheet!) So, if you use Maui at max power, I don't surprise myself that sometimes you hear a drop of volume.
PS: the power module broke and obviously the spare parts do not arrive, so until September I will play with only one speaker... |

Do you put G2 at maximout output like me?
Never noticed any red light flashing either ?
if you use your pa4x with Maaxaudio at factory settings, set it at 0db on your mixer, and your mixer's output to 0 too,you don't have any limiting problems? _________________

No, usually I put at 3/4 of max and no, my Maxx Audio setup is not factory one.
I don't have limiting problems. |

i use my own Maxx settings too, double checked with analyzers etc, never had a problem before.
As i said, never had an issue with Ld mix model either,i just don't know if g2 model is such sensitive or am i doing something wrong .
Funny thing is that in mixer there is no hard level signal, everything is at normal levels.....
I will try to use an analog mixer tonight or at least try to use the stereo mode on both sets and reduce their output to 3/4 ,just to check if there is gonna be any limiting again.... _________________

Yes, but worst thing is on datasheet: max RMS power is 110W... far from 500W RMS declared from LD. May be internal amp is set to respond to very high peaks, but if you keep max level all the time start limiter to prevent overheat damage. |

Are you sure about that?
Cause Adam Hall claims that Maui 11G2 uses 2x pieces TDA8954TH .
It's a dual Chip Class D Power Stereo Audio Fidelity Amplifier ,420W each channel ,Left and Right . _________________

In full bridge mode, with + and - 41V supply, the TDA8954TH will deliver approximately 800W instantaneous peak power, or 200W RMS using a sinewave, at 10% distortion plus noise. The 420W figure is the PMPO, though the manufacturers do not state this in their datasheet!! I wish they did!!
