Looking for sound libraries that I can add via the editor to the Keytar. Many of the built in sounds, which are great, don't suit my needs exactly. Are there any companies that are producing patches for the S2?

Do the existing Korg Libraries work with the S2?

I'd like to add a larger selection of pianos.

Following. Adding to the inquiry... Can you load MicroKorg XL+ patches into the Editor/Keytar S2?

Hi,

I thought it was not possible, whilst the RK100S is able to read in mKXL(+) patches. Strange move then.

Now probably with some hacking it might be possible. The mKXL+ programs can also be "converted" (the changes are very limited as the binary data almost fits one-to-one) to mkXL programs while the official Korg Editor does not support that. Someone made a custom tool for it. The XL+ editor supports reading XL programs though. But I would think that has rather to do with not upgrading/updating older editors when a successor appears...

To punkrockphil, I don't think there are a lot of companies creating expansion packs for the keytar.
Note that when you talk about adding more piano's they will all be based on the only available built in piano sample in the keytar that is also used in the factory piano programs.
The (potential) different piano programs will vary in e.g. effects, modulations, filtering eq, resonance and so on but will all be based on that same sample.

Have fun

Here’s a couple of sites that I’ve found that have some straight up retro sounds for the RK100S-2. [url] https://www.thoracius.com/microkorg-xl-patches
