PA300 - Sound not being saved!

Hello all,
I noticed a very strange issue (maybe because it's the first time that I'm trying to edit a Sound). I noticed that most of my 'Sax', 'Trumpet &Trbn', etc have multiple layers eg: Tenor Sax + Trombone which sounds very odd. I'm trying to remove the multiple layers i.e. remove the Trombone, it plays fine while in edit mode, but the moment you save it, it goes back to the original multi sounds. What could be the reason? In other words, the added OSCs are not removed even when the number 560-Emply is chosen. To my surprise when I change the Octive - that is saved. Any suggestion is most welcome.
