Hello everyone!

Is it safe to use a pre amp with phantom power to feed into the Kronos inputs in order to power a condenser mic?

Thanks

I’m not 100% sure, but I would pass on that idea. I think phantom power can produce 24v. Let’s see what others have to say about it.

I always go through a DI just to be safe.
(edit)
Sorry. I misunderstood. I thought the concern was connecting the Kronos 1/4-inch TRS outputs to an XLR with phantom power turned on. That is where I use a DI because I'm afraid the phantom power might damage Kronos output circuitry.

I don't "think" an in-line condenser mic pre-amp would present phantom power at its output, but I would make sure of that before connecting to Kronos inputs.

Thankyou for your replies

Here is a picture of the one I have..

I plan to connect my condenser mic to it using phantom power,
then take the output into the Kronos inputs

Is it safe to do so?

Thanks again

It will be safe to connect the output of the ART Tube MP preamp to the Kronos inputs. The pre-amp's phantom power is filtered out before it gets to the output. Make sure the Kronos input being used is set to Line.
