Hi Dave,
Yes, the new manual gives so much detail.
I experimented with time sliced samples back in my pa800 days. Basically just wanted to see how it worked.
I was glad I did, I ended up with a few jazz swish brush tracks from my Band in a Box audio drum tracks. At the time they sounded more realistic than the brush swishes in the pa800 styles.

I believe that it should allow DRUM samples to be directly assigned to the matrix like AKAI MPC does!

I think the Matrix Pads were a great idea, that just didn't get as much time for KORG to engineer. Kind of feel like they put them in there with good intentions, but hadn't come up with a clear plan as to what they would use them for...

That said, I believe the future will hold Great Improvements for the Matrix Pads...
