The Roland Fantom just just got a massive update, adding new features and an actual model expansion which, tbh, isn't something I'd be using anyway BUT...being the owner of a Kronos 2 - for 7 years now - I can't recall Korg ever releasing something like that. Can you?

Here, check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzwH1VwWCig[/b]

From my point of view, most massive update was v.3.0.
But, this was in connection with new (in this time) Kronos 2.
Because OS compatibility between Kronos 1, Kronos X and Kronos 2 (almost the same hardware).
Kronos 1 and Kronos X owners stood to gain. After that, new subversions brought only bug fixes.
Of course, a lot could have been done, but Korg decided to give up on Kronos, and refocus on Nautilus.

N/Zyme came out a year ago. Fantom is a 2019 product that hasn't had an update since January 2022.

I agree. When launched, Kronos was announced to have expansion capability to host new engines… what a joke…
I have been a Korg fan for years but nowadays am considering to move to other brands that are more modern or propose real updates to their synths.
Korg’s marketing strategy is apparently to recycle the Kronos in a new package ever and ever without anything really new except the chassis.
When playing on recent synths these days, I really feel that the Kronos is being very outdated and as time goes on, the gap will even get worst.
Considering the amount of money you have to pay for this keyboard, it is clearly not fair from Korg not to provide any real update (not one adding only quick split/layer).
The Grandstage doesn’t appear neither to be really true innovation.
Sorry Korg but the Kronos might be my last Korg keyboard for a while.
This is turning like Kodak brand in the camera industry… you can stretch it all the way but when you wake up, it is too late as you are off-market…

Major Kronos update was streaming from SSD.
