Hey all,

I just had a quick issue I was hoping to get clarity on, shouldn't be difficult to fix but I'm still not great at maneuvering this keyboard

In the sequencer mode, I've been copying a piano from the program mode, with its effects and then recording once I've adjusted it to my liking. In this case, I've been using the "pianosphere" patch with the una corda pressed down and the lid at 50%. The issue I'm having is that when I playback after recording, the modifications aren't there, the modifications disappear and I have to readjust it to get the right sound

How do I address this?

Apologies if this a simple fix found in FAQ, but I wouldn't even know where to look for the fix in the first place

How I would do it is simple enough.

I don't think you have access to all the Program Edit parameters in Sequencer mode, just in Program Mode (although I may be wrong). It's understandable, given the huge number of editing options across all the different sound engines.

What I do is to save the edited program to a new program slot, assuming that I want keep the new edited version as well as the source program. I'm usually happy to do that, because the varied piano sounds are useful for me to have. Then I load the new sound into Seq mode.

If it's the case that I wasn't that bothered about keeping the old program sound, I would just overwrite it with the new edit.

To change some parameters use the Control Surface - Tone Adjust. Add the lid position in any empty param slot and adjust it there. Will find a lot of param available to edit the programs in SEQ. Also in Combi too.

Thanks for the useful info, Dan - I didn't know about that. Whatever the problem, there always seems to be a good workaround in the Kronos.

The reason this happens is because when a song starts, each patch is reset to its initial state and all continuous controllers are reset to zero.

As Dan said, the correct way to manage this is to use the "Tone Adjust" screen to set parameters to override the initial patch settings. Continuous Controller adjustments (eg filter cutoff) should be stored in the sequence itself so they're restored at playback.

There's a few useful pages in the Parameter Guide (don't ask me where!) that describe what gets reset when you stop and start sequencer playback.
