|
|
would someone help ( not with sarcasm or a RTFM comment please ) im not new with arrangers and have done music 40 years.
i would like to out put drums to output 1 and bass to output 2. I went to
global> audio media and set the drums respectively to 1 and bass to 2.
I use a scarlett 8I18 audio interface
i run cables to channels 1,2 3,4 on it
then
in Garageband ( i assume any DAW is the same technique ) i assign the proper audio channel.
Yet it's not going smoothly. I only hear the drums not the bass.
Would someone know if there is a video tutorial on this setup
or outline how they separate drums from other instruments with PA4x
I would like to be able to get this right and would appreciate someones experience with this setup. thank you very much gl |

Are you in Song Mode? Go to Global, Audio SEQ1 and there you can change the outputs |

Hi Glenn
I have just done this on my PA4x (V3.1.0) and it works correctly.
You didn't say if you were in SONG PLAY or STYLE PLAY however here are the procedures for both modes:-
For SONG PLAY (assuming drums TRACK 10 and bass TRACK 2):-
GLOBAL>>AUDIO&VIDEO>>PLAYER1
...TRACK 10 > OUT1 (drums)
...TRACK 2 > OUT2 (bass)
...ALL OTHER TRACKS > LEFT&RIGHT
For STYLE PLAY:-
GLOBAL>>AUDIO&VIDEO>>STYLE-KBD
...DRUMS > OUT1
...BASS > OUT2
...ALL OTHER STYLE AND KEYBOARD TRACKS > LEFT&RIGHT
These work correctly for me so I am not too sure why this doesn't work for you.
Let me know if I can help further... happy to try your MIDI file or STYLE if you wish...
Just a further note:-
I have my keyboard audio output to LEFT&RIGHT and have the Vocals directed to OUT1&OUT2
I feed these audio cables into my Roland HS5 session mixer hub.
The hub, USB connected to my Mac enables me to record all audio tracks separately directly into Logic Pro (love, love, love Roland gear!!)

I wish Korg would have given us separate outputs, not L&R but L OR R. I can't use the onboard TC Helicon when I play live because I have my channel 1 go out to the Bass amp and Channel 2 go to another amp for drums. I'm left with just L&R. |
