I'm a newbie here VERY excited to be buying a secondhand Kronos 2.

Can I still access the software and resources that comes with it or is that only available to the first buyer/user? Also I may want to add the Italian Piano to it. Where's the best place to get that from?

Thanks for any help.

The licences for any sound expansion libraries that have been installed on the Kronos can be transferred by the seller to your Korg ID account, if that is part of the sales agreement. You will need to set this account up first:

https://id.korg.com/users/sign_up

If the seller chooses not to include the expansion libraries in the sale, they can be purchased from the Korg shop (there is a sale on at the moment, until 2nd December):

The Kronos Editor, and other resources can be found here (give the webpage a while to load - it could take up to a minute):

https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/424/

The resources include user manuals, and accessory disk images. However, try to get the original accesory disks from the seller, if possible, as burning the image files to DVD, and then the DVDs working properly, can be a bit hit and miss. It will be necessary to purchase a USB DVD reader/writer, at some stage, to be able to use the DVDs, as well as to burn audio CDs, and also to read audio CDs, for sampling purposes.

The accessory disks are used to restore the factory sounds and system, Hopefully they should never be needed, but useful to have, in case. I've needed to use the restore DVD once, over several years of owning Kronos, and that was avoidable. Making a full backup to a USB thumb drive, when you first get the instrument, and before loading any new sound libraries, is a sensible precaution.

I sprung for a paid version of Midi Quest since I have several synths I can use it with. The Kronos Editor is a single-instrument version of Midi Quest, and probably won't be getting any updates or support. https://squest.com/
