Hi all

Wonder if someone could help me. After a fair bit of faffing around I finally got my microKorg to connect to the SoundEditor software via MIDI in Windows and downloaded a load of patches.

However whenever I copy any .syx files into my library they don’t show up. I read somewhere that they need to be .prg files instead for Windows. Is this true? I can’t find any software to convert them if this is the case.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Here is a workaround. Never tried it as I don't own the original microkorg. So no guarantee for success...

First download the .syx file to the synth using some sysex sequencer tool.
Then download (backup) the programs from the synth to your PC using the SoundEditor. You might now be able to get them as .prg.

Good luck.
