Post by DocFingers »

Background: On OASYS 88, i composed a Suite of 5 songs 12 min long, recorded all 16 tracks MIDI plus 16 AUDIO, mixed down to stereo WAV file on O, mastered on eMastered, released, publisher wants me to separate the whole suite into its five individual component songs for licensing purposes.
Problem: No tracks left in MIDI or AUDIO sequence and have no idea how to accomplish this as there are transitional music and libretto sections/parts that connect the songs. i know i will have to do some re-writing and re-recording but want to limit the additional time it will require.
Solution?: Questions ---
1. Can i copy just x measures of the original sequence into new sequences, with Audio, and then just add an original beginning and/or ending to each sequence to create 5 independent songs ? If so, how?
2. Can i copy just x measures of the WAV file, and then decoct them into 5 new sequences, etc.?

FWIW, It took me weeks to record and mix this Suite, every minute of which was a major struggle for my analog mind (plus, i suffer from low vision which made this task that much harder)
--- Getting old is not for wimps, but what's the alternative? ---

If some digital guru out there knows how to accomplish this, please provide step by step instructions so my moronic digital mind can follow them (assume i know very little about digital recording and you'll be understating the situation).
