There is something I messed up on (maybe two things but the other one doesn't really matter). The ring mod setup in MS-20 behaves super strange in that the pulse width control on oscillator 1 seems to fade up the signal of oscillator 2. At first I thought it was simply an AM configuration but it's not! I was only able to mimic the same sound on AL-1 by assigning a macro to the pulse width of osc 1 and mix level of osc 2 so that when the osc 1 pw was pushed to the point of zero output osc 2 would have it's gain all the way up in the mixer. Very strange!
Turns out that behavior is explained by the Ring Mod in the MS-20 actually being an XOR configuration. A modern synth that I can think of with this same configuration is Steinberg's Retrologue 2.

Interesting to note that the output waveform of the square LFO has a DC offset because it is unipolar. Haven't listened to see if the triangle/saw is bipolar but I suspect it is. (Turns out the graphic in the patch panel shows the tri/saw MG output is in fact bipolar). It would be neat if the saw up/down transformations are actually offset too while the tri remained centered. I don't think this is the case but I can check.
If anyone would like me to find the LFO rates of the 20 lmk. It would be interesting to find out if I can get a faster rate with it tempo sync'd at 300bpm vs AMS boosted.
Since I can't use an AMS mixer source for LFO rate (or in the very least the option is greyed out in the editor), as of right now, I don't think it's possible to keytrack the LFO rate to tune it like I did with the LFO's in AL-1. There might be a trick or two to examine in the patch panel but I haven't gone over that section yet.

It's simply impossible to go super in-depth while keeping the video around ten minutes long. There are tons of subjects that I could go into detail on like CVs, linear vs exponential FM, signal flow... But I'd rather these tutorials be bite-sized snippets that include at least some information or techniques that aren't in the manual. All that being said, something that IS in the manual but still worth mentioning: when EG1 is manually patched into pitch via the panel it acts as a conventional envelope. That is to say, the start of the attack is the same pitch as note-on while the sustain pitch is pushed further and further from that start point with more EXT intensity.

Thanks Charles for this series of tutorials.
Very intuitive and instructive.
Helps to tackle some dark areas of the MS20EX. _________________ Chris (Belgium)

You're welcome chris, thanks for the positive feedback. If you have any question feel free to ask. Also if you have some MS-20 tips of your own definitely post them up! _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Edited a new video into the original post. MG, EG, and Modulation part three. I focus on the strange and unintuitive behavior of EG2 on the MS-20. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Happy you're getting some use from them, DAZZA3483! Started this series because there are things about the MS-20 that I don't fully understand myself. Looking forward to diving into the details of the patch panel next week. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro
I don't suppose anyone has done a similar thing on the AL-1 engine? _________________ Gig Gear = Korg Kronos 61(down to 1 keyboard at gigs... Its great!!)
Gear at home - Studiologic SL-880(primarily used for Piano feel for Kronos... Nice!!!), Korg Triton Classic 61 (Moss, SCSI, 64ram), Korg 01/Wfd, Roland Juno 6.
