Keep in mind that some cover band keyboard players are also going to want a few of those more modern signature dance-ey sounds ala: Lady Gaga, Uptown Funk, etc.
From a more classic and prog rock vein:
Steve Miller stuff
Boston organ patches
Styx patches
Police patches (Synchronicity II, etc)
Genesis - Squonk, Dance on a Volcano, etc
A usable Joe Walsh sound set for Life's Been Good, Ordinary Average Guy, etc
A few Pink Floyd patches ala The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here
Billy Idol patches
Prince patches _________________ Voyager, A Tribute to the Music of Journey https://www.voyageraz.com

You're totally right, and I'll likely do something like that as well in the future. I figured though since a LOT of songs in the 80's and 90's either feature synths or at least use a bunch of them it would make a logical starting point!
(And thanks for your suggestions) _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

Okay, here's what I've got so far. I'm still listening to all of the suggestions and figuring out which ones are doable, which ones have keys and not too many of them (so are playable by one keyboardist) and so on.
Money for Nothing (Dire Straits)
Don't you forget about me (Simple Minds)
Take on Me (a-ha)
Rebel Yell (Billy Idol)
It's my Life (Bon Jovi)
Hungry like the Wolf (Duran Duran)
Working for the Weekend (Loverboy)
In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins)
Africa (Toto)
When Doves Cry (Prince)
Billie Jean (Michael Jackson)
Here I Go Again (Whitesnake)
Every Rose has its Thorn (Poison)
Cars (Gary Numan)
Dream On (Aerosmith)
Carry on my Wayward Son (Kansas)
Blinded by the Light (Manfred Mann)
Boys of Summer (Don Henley)
Broken Wings (Mr. Mister)
Tom Sawyer (Rush)
Don't Stop Believing (Journey)
Separate Ways (Journey)
Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd)
Jump (Van Halen)
Dirty Laundry (Don Henley)
Mony Mony (Billy Idol)
Addicted to Love (Robert Palmer)
Summer of 69 (Bryan Adams)
You Give Love a Bad Name (Bon Jovi)
Are there any "must-haves" that I'm missing? I'm planning on having about 50 songs, so there's still lots of room but I wanted to try and have mostly top 100 kind of songs, things that people would recognize right away. _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

I'll throw one in there: the other "It's My Life" by Talk Talk. This one has been covered by No Doubt but the original has some patches that kind of elude me when trying to replicate them for our own cover band.
Another that has quite a bit going on and might stretch the limits of even an 88-key unit but could be done using RPPR: "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I've done this one also in a cover band. The intro pad, sitar-ish sound, the "bow-bow-bow" bass line and explosions I've covered but nowhere near doing justice to the original. Tall order for sure...thanks Trevor Horn
Lastly, Seal's "Crazy" has a staccato B3 organ patch that repeats throughout that's best played with an arpeggiator. Another Trevor Horn-ism
Here are my covers of both all on a Kronos:

I'd kill for a useable talk-box-like sound so I can pull off the "Rocky Mountain Way" solo... |

Thanks Lunaluna,
I have to get my website and storefront running, and then I have to make the soundset (which I don't think should take as long as the storefront) but I'm working on all of it simultaneously. Hopefully sooner than later though! _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

Missing a couple of the most iconic sounds of the 80's-
Let's include
"Shout" by Tears for Fears for the Fairlight AAR (and later Saraar for the girl who sang it) vocal patch;
Owner of a Lonely Heart for the Orch 5 patch or;
"A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran
"Miami Vice" theme, which kind of defines 80 sounds.
Others:
"Some Like it Hot" by Power Station for the drums and the horns;
"Stay the night" by Chicago for that bright DX7 EP;
"Africa" by Toto;
"Sweet Dreams" by The Eurythmics;
"Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News;
"You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" by Dead or Alive;
"99 Luftballons" by Nena;
"She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby;
"Working for the Weekend" by Loverboy.
