Looks very much like it has been removed.
Did anyone actually ever rely on it?
I must try it out of curiosity.
Sort of a bit like "MP3 Vocal remover" - just a fun gimmick really - Audya tried that too!!!
Although they have kept the "MP3 Vocal Remover" in the PA4X.

I just dont get it, why they removed so much stuff from the pa3x? In the past they only added new things while keeping previous generation things in place...
Or would it be that they are using the exact same processing hardware as the pa3x? And they needed to make room for new stuff... |

But how well did it work?
Was anyone using full backing tracks as a reliable way to trigger the harmony?
Before you moan a feature's loss, make sure it actually worked well in the first place! |

MP3 audio harmony feature I have personally used and it was a very good function. One singer from MP3 instrumental song he knew at singing sing with vocaliser. A TC-Helicon proved as the MIDI song as well as MP3 song produced vocals.
TC helicon could read harmony (chords) MP3 song and created the vocals to MP3 though there was no singing people.
Very very cool feature and it has no other instrument!
Korg Pa3X is the only one who can do it!

"so much stuff"? I am not missing anything since my PA1Xpro, but maybe there are some things I never use.
The only big thing I "miss" is the i-series backing sequencer but we are talking about different generations of arranger.

But how reliable is it? How does it deal with a busy, percussion and drum heavy mix? Is it something you can use on just about any backing track and get reliable, accurate triggering? It doesn't, so far, look like a whole bunch of people use it. Could that mean it's not that useful?
Personally, rather than reading an mp3 for chords, for duo's, at least, it might be great to have the audio inputs be available for chord detection from audio. Then you simply plug the guitar player's guitar into it, and you would have the same kind of ability that most modern VH pedals do... Most of those kinds of pedals, that do 'audio to chord detection', work FAR more accurately on just a simple input (a guitar, a piano) than they do on an entire mix of a band... |

It seems to be much smaller than originally thought.
And missing items don't seem to be significant. Yet, more will likely crop up as manuals and the actual keyboards become available. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

Maybe, but don't forget about all the NEW features.
So far (for me) the "missing" items are about as significant as the colour of the keyboard.
Cheers

Keyboard color can honestly throw some totally off their feed. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494

The audience cannot HEAR what color your keyboard is...
As long as the keys are the standard colors (I remember having some sight issues playing an old reversed Vox Continental keybed on dark stages! - That's how old I am ) and you can read the button and slider labels under stage lighting, who CARES? |
