Hi
Most of what's presented as news on G2 really don't matter as much for my use. I'm really not sure what I did expect, but I'm a bit disapointed even if I think it sounds better than any other Yamaha arranger so far...
Bought a Pa4X-76, liked it so much that I sold it for a reasonable good price and will add Pa5X-76 rather than swap G1 for G2.
I have a feeling about that will give me more musically possabilities and challenges as well as more value for the money.

Hi,
Maybe it's me, but I find it a bit confusing with Yamaha's reliance on the DX7 FM sound engine. It is a 40 year old technology that is being re-hashed into their top end keyboard. Do people really want that ? It's one of the reasons I came away from Yamaha and went to Korg. I find the DX7 o.k. but it's just one of many sounds on a keyboard.
I now have this E.Piano as my go to sound on the PA5X. For me, it's brilliant, and I will use it far more than an F.M. piano.

Korg also do their version of the DX7 sounds and although they might not be as technically accurate as Yamaha's version I really don't see why Yamaha needed to include a complete FM sound engine in the latest Genos 2.

Compared to the official Yamaha videos, I get a better feel for Genos2 in this video, if only through are screens and monitors...

Hi,
I have had a chance to hear more Genos 2 videos on Youtube and in particular by a chap called Leigh Wilbraham. he's a superb player who seems to get the most out of the keyboards he plays (it was his PA5X videos that made me buy mine). I strongly recommend you check his videos out if you are considering a purchase of either a PA5X, a Genos or a Genos 2.

I am pleased from what was shown to the public. I mean Genos 2. No special changes. I expected much more. I was convinced that Genos 2 overtakes korg pa5x with its new ingenious idea. But nothing from that has happened.
I think yamaha has cheated it's users.
One is for sure future korg pa6x will get led indicators next to sliders.

My thinking is similar, Genos2 from Genos1 has not had the same impact and gravity we have seen coming from 1st Generation Montage to the New Montage M series...pawlikp100 wrote:I am pleased from what was shown to the public. As for PA6x, don't make me giddy thinking about it, My investment in PA5X has to be fulfilled first (!)

Hi Pete, yes, I thought the korg’s were pricey, but Genos prices are a joke here. One good reason for not having ever bought a Genos.
One can get good discounts on Korg, Genos for some reason , no.
best wishes

Korg PA5X is not a compromise, it is a standard in itself. All it needs is a little TLC SW from the Korg Engineering and then it will stand apart from the crowd of arrangers.the_boss81 wrote:Well, seeing and hearing what Yamaha has offered its followers has only strengthened my conviction that Korg is definitely the best compromise for me.
+1 Agreed. FM synth is good for re-living nostalgia, but marketing FM synth pianos as the next best thing to slice bread on a 5K arranger is unpardonable.chelsea4023 wrote:Hi,

The video did not have any music or style comparison, only some outward comparison of some features anyone can distinguish at a glance. However, after watching a good amount of videos about Genos 2, my personal take is that the Korg PA5X is way better than the Genos 2.SpOoNmAn wrote:1st vid I've come across with an owner comparing the 2....
