Now on YouTube!!! The links are:

I switched to my Mac and used iMovie. What a wonderful thing!!! Was so easy to splice and dice and post to YouTube. Expect many more videos from me in the future after experiencing how easy that was.

I will be doing the famous 'Unboxing the Kronos 88' video.

Eventually I'll delete the other posted videos and let everyone access the YouTube ones only. For now, they're all still available. Don't wanna break anyones links so quickly.

I agree with ya. I believe they didn't have the preorders in place the way places like Sweetwater did. So being a smaller store, they didn't have the early preorders. So now they're about a month behind.

Interesting.
In 07:05 the demo guy says about sgx-1: "It will continue to grow...".

And i'm wondering if that's a hint about future library updates. Maybe he wasn't supposed to say that.
What do y'all reckon?

Yeah, I noticed that too. There's clearly no reason for them not to add new streaming libraries in the future.

It's all software, only limited by overall technical specs.

So they have to be sure that new developments still fit into the overall package running on the Atom processor, but I guess they will have a little headroom left for all kinds of improvements.

We will have to see. From my view, the sequencer should be on top of the improvement list (piano roll view and smart editing power would be very welcome).

Had some time now to watch the vids!

Overall, quite exciting to see it in action (there's always one fookin guitarist "fret-w@nking" in the background!! )

Would have been nice for him to go into more detail on the Polysix and MS20 (am I the only one who thinks that MS20 sound (also demo'd by Rich for Novamusic) is sh1te?) Would be nice to hear some more of its capabilities.

I do like the idea of being able to record to external USB sources though.

My one other bug-bear was an issue that's been raised before - he makes reference to the machine being used as a plug-in or add-on to a computer (editing samples etc in computer, and flying back over to the drive)

All well and good, but if you've bought Kronos as a "workstation" (as it's badged), this infers that the machine will do all of that without the need for external devices......
Not a major issue, but let's be clear about it.

All in all, impressive. Just have to wait for release now :)

Thanks for the vid :)

Thanks for the vids!

I like the comment about CX3: 'and drawbars are actually drawbars, not only small buttons'; he didn't say 'like on the Nords' but I could hear it clearly

That's awesome we saw some new videos. THANK YOU.

But here's the thing I've noticed:

Does anyone NOT follow a script demoing the Kronos? It's ALWAYS the same demo! It's always the same sounds! Didgeridoo? WHO says "Hey you need to check out the Didgeridoo!"??? Yet it always seems to make the cut.

Are these the only sounds in the Kronos worth showing? Some of us would REALLY like to hear some sounds not ALREADY in 15 OTHER videos!

Come on Korg! While your at it, release the Manual already!

It surprises you that a company that is launching a new product has trained it's sales team demonstrate all of the features it feels distinguishes it's product from others? I think that what is weird, in this age of the internet and YouTube, is not that sales people are following a script, but rather, that we are watching each and every presentation, over and over again, and feel cheated that they aren't all improvising every presentational :P

Dude come on. Are you serious? It's obvious they would keep the talking points of what's interesting, but on paper an instrument like the KRONOS should have enough great sounds to demo ALL DAY. So far we've heard the same 10 over and over. A couple sounds were a little different, if only due to the playing, but some of us are curious to what ELSE it can do. Ya know?

Some of it is just BAD, and has been since they started the demos. The "Weird and crazy" String sound using STR-1 for example: WTH is THAT? You don't need a modeling engine to make weird sounds suitable only for soundtracks. Show off what the engine can do! Let's hear the "string" sounds. How about PRACTICAL examples of sounds most people would actually USE! Well at least more than once.

If I could play one, I would but it's looking like July from what I read. So until then it's just the same demo over and over. :(

There are many strengths in Kronos that must be included in a demo. The material is huge, the time is short. The demonstrator probably can't say "see the other demos on YouTube", right?

I think improvisation is good at demos. It can be like a special mini performance - you introduce the instrument but also a part of yourself. It's personal and unique therefore even more interesting for the audience. And it's LIVE.
