Just received ARP Odyssey. We notice that after push the button down to engage portamento, if we try bending a note it seems like we almost have to stand on the rubber finger buttons to hear the note go sharp or flat. Is this normal. Seem like ALLOT of pressure has to be applied.

Anyway else run across this?

Thanks in advance for all the F E E D B A C K!!!

All the demo models I've tried have required a substantial amount of pressure to effect the pitchbend and modulation - not quite sure about standing on them, but it's needed to be firmer than I would expect.

Ok, so it's no just me. I'll open a support case to see what Korg say's. Something's not right with the design. That is way to hard to trigger.

Yes, the "PPC" pads are pretty firm, but then again they were almost unusable on my MKIII Odyssey too.

BTW... the Portamento switch either puts the glide before or after the octave switch, it's a subtle difference but I'm so glad Korg carried this across from the MKI Wink

Yup, you really have to lean into em to get them going.
I've noticed on my middle pad which is the one I use the most that as I've subjected it to more harsh treatment it seems to be getting easier to use compared to the others I don't use as much.
So perhaps that'll be the key: wearing them in.
It's a drag though because I like playing to be fun, not about wearing in something that should've been ready to play as soon as I busted the thing out that shiny new case.

The obvious thing to note if you weren't aware from that sentence is that portamento and PPC pitch bend are two different things - there is no button to push down to engage portamento, just a fader to control the time, and a dipswitch to control how portamento behaves when using the octave switch.
