I was wondering if these Eps are the same as the free ones or is there some update. Any input would be appreciated

Yes, all the Rhodes are going to have a different sound due to a variety of factors.

The original Mark I (1970) and Mark V (1984) are more or less bookends of the Rhodes line, from a very early model to one of the very last. You should be able to hear a pretty big difference between the two in those libraries if you have them installed.

With the new libraries, the Mark I 1975 is a great model year. It's actually my favorite. This was the high point for the Rhodes with many, many famous recordings happening in the early 1970s. The two Mark II libraries can sound similar, but they are different. For example, the Mark II 1984 has a wonderful bass, IMO.

The goal here is to provide Rhodes lovers with a variety of options. Everyone has their favorite years and favorite sound. Hopefully as you review these you're going to find one or maybe a couple that you make a real connection with.

BTW, I have a Silvertop from the mid 1960s that I'll be sampling soon and making that available. I'm also trying to procure a Dyno which should pretty much complete the collection.

Busch.

Hi Busch! Is this an EP1 expansion or HD1?
