Hello,

sorry to answer so late...

I wanted to add new features before publishing a new release, but I really do not have time for this currently.

I just built release 0.0.9 for windows with no novelties excepted that it should run on windows XP SP2 (and later):

Alright I am still looking through this editor The looping points are great! Messed with the slicing, but still have not figure out what to do next.

Brakio, is there a feature that lets you turn a stereo sample to Mono or is that next in the features list for the future update?

There is counter, to tell us if we reach the 24MB limit but your counter reads things differently. 24MB translated into your system is 26214369...total data size. A the lower right hand of the screen.

Every time I dive into this thing, I find something else that's cool here. I like how you can move the samples around in the sample.all list with these arrows. Sweet.

I swear, this post is like my ongoing review of this ES2 editor and it's really bitchen. This thing is really exciting.

It is so smooth how samples can be loaded up, play and be moved around. But most of all you can edit these samples on the fly.

Thank you so much for getting this right, Brakio

The Journey continues!

Trouble shooting and beta test notes:

While in the main interface I tried to change the name of a sample and I got back this:

Quote:
FATAL ERROR

0e2sSLE_GUI Returned -1

So far so good except you can't change the names of samples (at least not yet).

Important feature request for next version:

Usually in sample editors once you save a samples new beginning and end points, that's it! It's cut. It would be nice that this was the same when you hit export selected as wave. The ES2 even does this!

How about having the option to cut out the parts of sample out side of the beginning and end points of your sample in the editor. That would be awesome!

Also how about a feature that allowed one to save slices as separate samples.

Keep up the good work Brakio!

I found the issue and corrected it. Next release will integrate the correction (not today but probably in the week)

Not yet, but I planed to do something like this.

Sorry for that, it is not really user friendly...

Take a look at a sliced sample of the electribe (e.g. the -358- Drum 1/90 loop), maybe you'll better understand how to use this (I still have to write some documentation Embarassed or to think to a more friendly interface).
If you look at the Drum 1/90 example you'll notice that there are duplicate slices at the end (slices 10 to 16) don't worry, it is probably the electribe alogrithm for slicing that do not clear unused slices (it's transparent for the electribe user). Look at the bottom part of the slice editor you should understand Smile

Note that I'm not sure that the electribe is using the ?Attack? and ?Amplitude? values.

Don't miss it: you can use the mouse to move the slice points.
You just have to select one of the point by clicking on it in the editor, then you will be able to drag with the mouse the lines corresponding to the 4 values of the same slice inside of the wave form preview. (this is the same for the normal sample options)

Oh yeah, caught that! You can slice where YOU want to slice. The automated version on the ES2 is really cool. For situations where you have recorded more ambient type sounds the app is a better fit. Or you can even edit the automated slices made by the ES2.

Hey Brakio i just stumbled across your awesome sample editor.
I love the ability of loading in several samples at once but could you improv it by opening a dialog in which you can set parameters like Cat. and 1-shot for all selected samples.

Lets say i have 25 singlecycle wavewforms and I load all at once. I want them to be Cat: PCM and all looped.
Nonetheless much love for your work. <3

Hello all,

I published a new 0.0.10 release on GitHub.
https://github.com/JonathanTaquet/Oe2sSLE/releases

- It fixes application crash when renaming samples.
Now it should be quite stable.
- You can now import 8bits samples and 24bits samples (but not all 24bits formats, only old PCM format that is still widely used)

Its not a lot, but I did not find a lot of time...
Please tell me if you find other bugs. (It is often quicker and more easy to find time to fix a bug than to develop new features)

Hey Can, thank you!

Its a good idea, I'll add it to my TODO list. Wink

As soon as it will be possible I would also like to change the interface and use another GUI library because TkInter seems to be not so portable in fact...
If you have advices... they are welcome. I'll probably do a choice between Qt (with pyQt or pySide), wxWidgets (with wxPython) and Kivy (that also works with android).

And of course now that this prototype is nearly complete (for basic editing) I would also like to refactor the code to do things cleaner!

Brakio, will be looking forward to when you add the feature that allows the user to convert Stereo samples into mono! Will make so many things much easier.

Has anyone tested this app with the new ES2 firmware 2.02?

I'm not updating my ES2 until I know or there is an update to the sample editor.

Let us know if any of you are successfully using the software after updating. Thanks!

Hello, I was on holidays and was really excited to come back and see that a new firmware was released (Unfortunately I hoped to see better support of pattern chaining, like possibility to continue a note between patterns if the same sample is used in the two patterns for instance, or possibility to keep the parameter value of a knob (like filter value) while playing live; but this is not the subject of this thread).

I updated my firmware and exported the default samples to see if there was something new in the data of e2sSample.all file. The file is identical to the one generated with previous firmware version. So I think my software should work the same.

There are potential issues in the way the samples are numbered because the internal numbering in the electribe seemed to me to be buggy. If Korg corrected this, the work around I did in the software could not work properly (in the case you are using your own samples with numbers that are normally reserved to default electribe samples, for instance). I did not checked this yet, but I do not see why they would have changed the previous behavior.

But if you find new bugs with this new firmware and my software, don't hesitate to let me know.
