How can I convert a sng file on my PC to a file (mp3, wav ets) I can play?
What is a good conversion program (without viruses)?

You can use 'Sample to disk' on the Kronos (in Sequencer mode), and it will create a WAV file on one of Kronos' drives.

Free software such as Audicity could be used to create MP3's from WAV's if needed. Several DAWs can also do this.

Hope this helps

Thanks AdDeRoo.
I downloaded Audicity, imported the sng file into it, but get only hissing noises.
I read

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=646183&sid=72dd0143be0c20ec04f29ca9f3ddf13e

but this is too much for me. I am a total beginner.

I copied the sng files on a memory stick and put them on my Pc, but cannot hear anything. It is all so complicated.....

I wish I could get some tuition in person.....

Is there anybody out there who will have a holiday in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet (Byron Bay) and could give me some help?

I love my Kronos, but the learning curve is enooouurmousss....

It's not possible to convert a sng to mp3 directly from your computer. A sng file is only containing parameters but no audio.
This is the reason why you have first to convert it to wav on the Kronos.

Thanks all for your help. Thanks also to Qui for all his tutorials.

I know now how to record direct on to a USB stick creating a wav file.

But how do I convert an existing sng file to a wave on the Kronos?

Record it (re-sample) to audio on the internal drive instead of the stick.

Converting your Song to a wav file isn't that hard on a kronos. I'm doing this from memory so it could be that some of the menu options are named differently, but in that case just check the kronos manual to see how it's done.

These are the steps you have to do
- select the song in the sequencer mode
- press the right top menu
- choose menu option: auto HDR/Sampling Setup
- IMPORTANT: select the checkbox 2ch Mix to Disk
- press ok
- press the right top menu on the touch screen again
- choose the menu option: directory/file for sampling to disk
- enter the path and filename where your mix should be recorded
- press ok
- now press the REC Sample hardware button on the right side of your kronos, this activates the sample system
- now press the hardware play button to play your song

when it's finished you will find a <filename>.WAV file in the location you have selected in the directory/file menu. You can copy it to a usb stick with the disk / utility menu or if you have recorded directly on usb then you can take your usb stick to a computer and do whatever you want with it.

On my Kronos 2 I have to set the 'sample to disk' parameters in Sampling mode ...

- Go to Sampling Mode
- Change Save To parameter from RAM to DISK
- On the upper right drop down menu select 'Select Directory/File for Sample to Disk'
- Select/Create Directory or Select File on Disk to save to
- Go back to Sequencer Mode
- Press Sampling Rec
- Press Sampling Start/Stop
- Press Sequencer Start/Stop

For Mac users - a program called SWITCH works great.
