Thank you, Jerry, for the in-depth analysis, the kind words, and for introducing an often neglected category of musical instruments to the American readers. Nobody better than you could do it.

Very Good review which offers a balanced appraisal of each contender, I think that one omission was that where the reviews often referred to players using an arranger for gigs was in that it omitted to cover the physical bulk and dimensions which would be a consideration in any players decisions and on that aspect the Pa4x wins that round. But all in all a interesting read _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4 |

Thanks, all.
Paolo - hi! I had to give a quick pro for your manual - it was so educational, not just "this button turns on this function". It's rare these days to learn music, music production etc. from a product manual. Good job!
mintjamman: That's a good point: I agree, the bulk of the Tyros5 is a consideration. The problem with print reviews is the short space available. I had to cut a lot of commentary and could not cover many functions of these DEEP instruments. Wish I had mentioned it.
Regards,
Jerry |

I had read your review and felt it was a good review of the PA 4X which is all I am familiar with.
It truly is a board you can do so much with.... _________________ SteveA

I was surprised that you did not mention the MIDI-to-Style function in the Pa-4x. (Unless I missed it.) I am thinking it might as much a Game Changer for some of us as the enviable Quartet functions of the Tyros5. |
