Yes I do check my kronos temperature and it reaches 64-70 "degree C"
whether i'm using it with or without air condition. after I turned off the AC, and use it for 45mins - 1hr "fan Cooling" will appear on the upper middle screen of the kronos. weird isn't it?
anybody having same issue?
Thanks. |

It is Kronos 1 I bought it last Year. korg kronos operating system version 3.0.4. I noticed these issue before the latest OS update came out. even the "Fan Cooling!" always showed up on my KK screen, I don't notice any unusual behavior of my KK but of course it is a bit alarming for me. it seems that you must turn off your KK ASAP.
Thank you

we are making progress. You have the 5 yr old Kronos like me.
You bought it used ?
Go to Global/basic, then upper right hand corner.
Find Fan Control Setting. What does it tell you ? _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

It is worth checking the state of the heatsink on the mainboard - has it become clogged or possibly not as well mounted as it should be?

Thats interesting. The Kronos 1 , the original , is almost 5 yrs old.
Its quite a find to purchase a new one, as you say, 1.5 yrs ago.
The fan settings are extremely important. Thus, you should be clear on how to use them. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

It's too much. If your fan is on, and you got 70 C, that is obviously something wrong with cooling. Bad fan cooling often caused because the dust on fan or because of decentralization of propeller axis. This is oftenest reason that fan working in wrong speed. One way is to try to clean dust from fun, second way is to change a fan. In bought ways you have to open your Kronos to do this, or to send him to nearest Korg service.
I am not sure for this (I am not know near my Kronos), but you can check this: As I can remember I mean that exist two speeds for fan, and off settings. If it is true, check your setting, and you can set fan speed in high speed, if it is possible. I hope that I help you little. _________________ Pedja

Thank you bros...
I will open my KK and change the fan right away coz I believe the fan is clean and I frequently clean my kk by blower and vacuum. perhaps there is something wrong with the fan. better to change it.....

Oh by the way im working in UAE so expect extreme temperature here. normal temperature even night time is 48-50 somethimes beyond 50C. imagine using your kronos in a place without AC. or doing outdoor gigs. basically we can't rely on our KK if we use them outdoors? i mean to those people who are using there kk to a country with extreme temp like UAE.

Now 70degC makes sense, and probably not too extreme, if the ambient temperature is 40 or 50. It would have been useful to have known that in the first place.
If the 70degC is observed at an ambient of 20, then Houston, we have a problem.
