Hi folks!
I couldn't afford a new replacement for my TEX so i'm here tryting to look for answers...
My Extreme 7 has a problem with some sounds, sometimes when i play (eg Piano) if i keep a chord pressed, it sounds like an Arpeggiator (but it is not..) with some distorted notes and very out of tune.. same happens when i play PROG A31 (Vintage B)... the notes just sound WAAAY to out of tune, some sounds that use a drum loop/arp dont play the loop, and some other Synth Sounds. PROG C39 just dont play.. this happens with these sounds but i know there are others.. i have done Factory reset but it keeps happening, sometimes powering it off and back on fixes the problem.. but just for some days
Looks like some corrupted ROM issues, does it have a fix or do i have to get a new Motherboard or just throw it away? |

I have noticed something very strange...
One of the patches that doesn't work (doesnt make a sound) is PROG C039 (Epic Trance Stab)
I have just erased all my patches (0 + Enter on boot) and then Made a PRELOAD ALL DATA.. ok, so this makes the TEX as Factory reset.. right?
But when i check into the OSC in that patch above (still doesnt play a sound).. the OSC 1 says: ROM - E.P. Wurly and OSC2 ROM E.P Hard..
WTF?! Why EP? this is supposed to be a hard synth patch.. if i change ROM to RAM and then back to ROM, now it works (but it stills sound as an EP)
I dont know what is going on, looks like the memory allocators for each PCM sample got screwed.. what can i do ? |
