Hello

So after deciding to skip on the pa4 cause I was not really impressed at all.
I decided to add a module to use with my Pa3x.

So I added a yamaha motif es rack, and i must say , the motif sounds amazing great sounds and quality.

The was I'm using it is as following

My Drums, Bass, Acc1. Acc2 and Acc3 are all coming from the motif.
Percussion samples, and solos are coming from the pa3x

I used it on stage pa system, It just sounds SO MUCH more clean and crisp I'm using a total of 10 outputs individual for KICK, SNARE, BASS, HHTS, the power or the styles just blow everything else away.

If you want something fresh and you're not getting a overpriced and recycled pa4x get you a module and hear the difference.

IMO , Bad decision to skip Pa4X and buy motif since Pa4X styles libraries are better than Motif !
Of course this can be far better using Kronos which is the Best choice in that case !
I own all those keyboards and already tested this years ago.
You could also had upgraded Pa3X Libraries using WavesArt Pro libraries http://wavesart.eu/Pa3XSoundLibraries
like "Studio Drum & Bass" & "Guitars Suite" or any other and enhance your Pa3X to another level with lower
cost than buying a hardware workstation or rack !

I tested the Pa3x styles (70's Pop) through the Kronos via Midi on the style-tracks. It sounded magnificent, until I was about halfway through - and the voice-stealing stopped many notes randomly. What a let-down, I was so happy with the sound - and so disappointed about the polyphony issue from the Kronos2.. Sad

I prioritised the drums-timbres, since crash'es missing sounded weird. And eventually ended up using about (only) half the style-tracks mapped through Kronos2.

So I'm happy you got the Motif-Rack to behave better. In addition I can also recommend upgrading to Anthony's sound-products - they play AND sound awesome in the PA3x (I'm a happy owner of the Producer-Edition 2015).

Actually you don't need Kronos or any and instead of 70's Rock try "Doobie Brothers" of Producer Edition
that has better DK and quitars than Kronos ! Very Happy
Both workstations have almost the same polyphony so no one behaves better , it's according to sounds
arrangment due to save polyphony !

@ Anthony

I only use my own styles i record my own.

I was not impressed by the pa4x at all, It's nothing revolutionary at all. It's a refined PA3x that's it. For $3500 I was expecting a gig of sampling plus 6 or 8 outs.

They are still sticking with 4 outputs ! i don't know why !
when you have a full arrangement plus solos and backgrounds all coming outta 4 outs it's just too blurry for my ears. I don't hear separation of instruments. I decided to go with the motif cause the drum kits and sounds were just sweet sounding. All I'm using from the module is DRUMS, BASS, and ACC so spending 3000 dollars on a kronos to midi it with 3x is simply not justified. I think i will stick with this setup for a while, since my arrangements on a live PA are coming outta of 10 outs ! it just sounds so much cleaner and more powerful. Pa4x with it's 4 outs does not even come close.
