Replacing PCB boards - Power issue -

Post by yoshi88 »

a new set of WDX pcb boards were ordered .

Originally I had a Question about what is the best approach to access the PCB boards?:

Looking at the diagram the only way to change and access these boards to remove repair or replace is to remove the head. Then the head board membrane. This gives access to the Bottom tray which holds boards 2966,2967,2968 allowing removal of those plus access to remaining components.

IN our case we had a defective power board. Another technician seemed to have diagnosed the issue as a control switch / and main control panel board.

The owner of the wavedrum was advised to expect to replace all FOUR boards..... when in fact the power jack had a cold solder joint!

Although swapping the board to restore the wavedrum to service , all was needed was the power jack to be resoldered. Takes no more than 15 min to disassemble re-solder and reinstall the part....
IT pays to have a good technician thoroughly test the wavedrum right from the beginning! Saving time and $

No!
