I know that this has been discussed before, but for some reason I can't find the posts using the search feature... Maybe I'm a dumbass.

I got booked for a festival next month and it's imperative that I buy 2-3 more of the 3.5mm to MIDI converter cables. I know there are some that work and some that don't so obviously it's crucial that I get the right one.

Can someone please help me with a link to a site that sells the ones that are verified to work with E2?

Super appreciate it!!!!

this should be the one:
https://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-electribe-sq1-adaptor-510470524680

I haven't personally verified it, though. Rolling Eyes

This article at CDM indicates that the Korg SQ-1 1/8" to MIDI cable is the same as the Electribe 2 1/8" to MIDI cable, but the ones for the Circuit (and other gear) won't work with the Korg gear: http://cdm.link/2015/08/used-stereo-minijack-cables-midi/

Hope this helps. Smile

Hey guys. Got the sampler version used from Guitar Center, and it arrived without the MIDI adapter.

Thanks for that link, Cade.

Question though, I expected the adapter to be split and have two MIDI Din Sync connections... one for MIDI in and one for MIDI out. But the replacement adapter only has one MIDI Din Sync connection. Is this how the original cable was? If so, does the single connection handle both MIDI in AND out?

Thanks!

You need 2 adaptors, one for midi in and one for midi out.

This is how the original is. When purchased new, they come with two of the same mini jack to 5 pin MIDI adapter cables.
If you look on the back of the Electribe2 sampler, there is a separate 1/8" mini jack connection for each; MIDI in and MIDI out. You can use the cable for either.
The Electribe2 doesn't support MIDI through unfortunately. Confused
But if you get an additional cable as musicmagus suggests, you will have less plugging and unplugging and it is how the units come (with two).

Thanks! Yeah that was kind of a duh moment for me. I thought there was only one midi out, not two. So it makes sense that you'd need two adapters. derp!
