|
|
Hi there
I tried searching for a similar post, but to no avail - apologies if i simply failed to find an already existing answer to my question.
I'm using the Radias as a digital effectboard for my MS-20 (a monophonic synth). Since the MS-20 only sends a mono-signal, the signal is still mono after passing through the Radias. I was wondering, if you could split the signal through the Radias so as to make the signal stereo.
I'm using X-trade's "Sparkle Verb" patch by the way. Thanks in advance.
Regards, Lasse |

The Radias' effects are stereo in, stereo out, so the dry signal from a mono input will always sound "mono". However, quite a few of the effects will treat the signal differently with respect to the outputs, so the "wet" output is likely to have a stereo characteristic. Particularly so with reverb and delay effects and flanger/phaser, but also grain shifter.

Jensen, if you turn off the Unison on the patch then it will become mono, and I think the voice is centred by default.
The Radias has special handling of unison when the Audio In mode is used on Oscillator 1, such that it automatically gets treated as a stereo input; the voices are panned left and right as per the unison width setting, and take input from the left and right inputs respectively. If the patch is mostly applying effects from the IFX and MFX sections then the 'stereoness' of the input doesn't matter - you should be able to have one input through one synth voice with the output panned centre and the effects will apply their 'stereoness' from there onwards.
You can adjust the balance between which input is used in Oscillator 1's controls - can't remember which right now as I've just sold my Radias.
hope that helps! _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,
