|
|
Hi, i was wondering if it's possible for me to control my Minilogue with the USB-cable from Ableton. I have no problem getting the Minilogue to work as a controller in Ableton (with USB), but can't get the Ableton keyboard sequencer to control the notes, for instance. I've selected the right MIDI-channels as far as i know. |

Hi,
MIDI over USB is supported both in IN and OUT direction.
* Check the right MIDI channel is in use on both Ableton and the synth
* Check on Minilogue that 'Enable Rx MIDI' is on (Global Settings page 4)
* To rule out Ableton settings, you may look for another application that can send MIDI notes.
Good luck _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

Thank you for the reply. I'm afraid i've done both and still can't get it to work. I've chosen external instrument, set "MIDI To" to minilogue (MIDI OUT). Is that the way to go about it? I'm new to both MIDI and Ableton |

Hello,
I would say yes. Strange you can not get it to work.
Do you have other MIDI interface options to choose from, in the "MIDI OUT" dialog?
Did you try e.g. MidiOx to let it send notes to the Minilogue?

In Windows you should use "minilogue SOUND" not "MIDI OUT". The "MIDI OUT" sends the data to the physical MIDI out port on the back of the minilogue. Similarly, when you play on the minilogue, the MIDI events from the minilogue itself are sent out on the "minilogue KBD/KNOB" port. The "minilogue MIDI IN" port is whatever comes in the physical MIDI port on the back of the minilogue.
You should have it something like this:
The sync on the output lets you sync e.g. the LFO to the tempo in Ableton. |

But annoylingly the sync also always starts the sequencer on the minilogue and there is no way to prevent this AFAIK (except by disabling "sync" or deleting the sequence on the minilogue). I wish there was a setting the minilogue to enable/disable sequencer syncing. |
