hi, sorry for the delay in responding. i did this:
1. get a wav file, must be less tban 8MB in size, save it
2. download kromatic software from krome heaven, i am using an old version because the latest wont work on my pc.
3. load in the wav sample into kromatic
4.assign the sample to a 'multi sample'
5. define the key range and origional key of the sample, i use C3
the software makes an meta.img and sample.img file, but these wont load into the kross as the sample file is too big at 16 MB
7. Download KSTools, i think i got this from krome heaven too.
8. open the meta.img file and save, choose the save iption for kross.
this creates a new meta.img and sample.img thats only 8MB
9. put both files on the root of an sd card and insert into the kross
10. boot the kriss and it loads the sample
when you create a patch you now have additional multisamples to choose, you can find these on the setting where you choose stereo or mono damples or optional samples, i.e. the new ones.
i have read that you can damage tbe kross, so i accept no responsability, but the above has workef for me and i will upload an example ehen i get chance.

Hi Amiga1200,
Thank you for your reply.
See also this thread: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=92175.
I downloaded from the links overthere a meta.img and sample.img file. If I understood it well, these file were delivered to the guy when he bought his Kross. My assumption is that these are good files. I've put them on my SD card, but unfortunately, the samples do not get loaded at bootup at all.
So my question to you is, did you have to do anything special on the Kross to get them loaded, apart from putting the files the SD card? Was your Kross maybe delivered with an SD card with samples (and thus already put in load-at-bootup mode)?
You may put your files on dropbox, google drive or something like that and post the links here.

hi opamp,
i did not do anything special to load the img files.
all i did was make sure they were in the root of the sd card.
i will try to load the files in the link tomorrow and will also upload my img files.
