Hi,
The pieces of kit this concerns are the microKorg S and the Electribe Sampler. The mK is the slave, the Sampler is the master.

Briefly, the Sampler has 16 channels of midi corresponding to the 16 pads.
I use the Sampler for drums, sometimes random effects and bass.
I use the microKorg for lead.

I would like to sync the tempo, so that the arpeggiator of the mK is the same as whatever bpm I set on the electribe. At the moment, if I have any instrument on Channel 1 (part 1) of electribe, it will start playing the mK. But I don't want to sync the midi notes. Otherwise, it means I lose the functionality of one pad/part, because I have to keep it completely clean and empty to avoid sending unwanted midi notes.

Is there a possibility to somehow only accept incoming tempo, and not notes?
Or, maybe one for the Electribe forum, is there a way to transmit only midi tempo without transmitting the notes?

Thanks guys!

Hi,

On the MK you can NOT filter notes.
On the First generation Electribe Sampler it is possible to filter MIDI notes, i.e. they are not transmitted (a global setting). Obviously, this only works fine if no other equipment is MIDI slaved to the Electribe.
I've no clue whether the new Electribes can do it.

Otherwise you'll have to look for a box between both: somthing like this: http://www.midisolutions.com/prodevp.htm

Bye.

Since MIDI Clock is channel-independent, you can simply change your devices to run on different MIDI channels. This is pretty much the standard way to choose which devices do and do not control eachother.
but clock sync is not channelised so affects all attached devices

X-Trade,

Indeed, but I understood that that is just the problem.
Each pad on the Electribe (16) seems to send on another MIDI channel (which I find strange by the way) and if you don't want to give up one of these pads, you want the channel specific messages filtered out to just have the midi clock left over.

Bye.
