Hi all,
I bought a MicroKorg (MKI) on eBay for spares or repairs. The previous owner plugged in the wrong power supply, and toasted a few SMT components, one being 'IC5', and a fuse, so the two green audio lights would light up, go out (as part of ther normal boot sequence), and then the rest of the unit was dead. I sourced and replaced the components, using a very fine soldering tip and a decent soldering station, reassembled the instrument, and it powered up!
Most of the switches and keys work, and it has sound output, including access to ALL patches. Now, the only things that aren't working, are the pitch bend, mod wheel, and edit knobs 1-5. All the other pots work fine.
Could this be something to do with the processor? I think it's highly unlikely to be the pots themselves, as it would just been too much of a coicidence!
Your help and advice would be very much appreciated!
Kind Regards,
Luke |

Hi,
Google 'microkorg service manual'. You'll find there the schematics and can check then maybe if the pots get power and so so.
They all go to the main cpu, which I expect is muxing each input after each other to only one (internal) ADC converter. Hopefully this ADC is not broken...
Good luck. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK
