I play keys for a church with a few different locations, and each location uses a Korg Krome. At least 3/5 of them are all having the known popping/cutting out/distortion issues with the sustain pedal on the piano patches, which I know is an SD card problem. But one of them is having a totally different issue that I can't find any information on. Whenever I'm using a piano patch and using sustain, it randomly (loudly) repeats a single note after I play it. The strange thing is, it's always C# above middle C, or it has been for the past few weeks. So for example, I'll play an A chord, and if it includes C# above middle C, it will sometimes randomly (much more loudly) repeat only the C#. But it was a different note several weeks ago (I think maybe middle C or F above middle C, I can't remember). It's not every time I play the note, it seems to be random. It seems better after the keyboard has had a break for several days, and then gets worse throughout the weekend as it gets played more. Bandmates have described it as sounding like I fell on my keyboard and hit a note really loudly. I've tried doing a full restore and it hasn't fixed the problem. Any ideas what could cause this?? Thanks in advance! |

Sounds a lot like debris under the key contacts, or possibly one of the C# key contacts is stuck down--or, at least, very close to down, such that vibration causes it to make contact at full volume.
Thinking maybe someone spilled coffee on the keyboard? |
