hi!
I have just purchased a Korg NanoKontrol studio but i'm having a few problems with it.
When i connect it with his cable usb and put the switch to usb connection not always it turns on.
It's completely random and if i turn it on and then turn it off if i try to turn it on again it does not work.
Any solution?
Thanks,
Max |

It's a little difficult to help without much information. There is no mention of the device the nanoKontrol is being plugged into. Is it a PC or laptop, or Mac, or a Kronos? Directly or via a USB hub? Are there other USB devices plugged in e.g. external hard drive, mouse, keyboard, other controllers, powered speakers.....?
The problem could be down to a bad USB power connection, or the USB voltage being a bit on the low side. Maybe try a shorter and better quality cable, or try plugging into a desktop PC, rather than a laptop, since desktops generally will deliver a higher current via the USB ports before overload detection cuts in. Another possibility is the USB port power is being overloaded transiently by the nanoKontrol, It could be that this inrush current produces a borderline overload situation. Most USB devices initially take more power as the internal power supply capacitors charge up, or a hard drive spins up. For PCs there is normally an indication that too much current has been drawn from a USB port. A powered USB hub might help, since these generally deliver more current.
