Hi,

I've made some 100 songs in the sequencer mode combining premade styles and own recording. I've managed to make the Pa600 crash about 10-20 times, losing all unsaved data ofcourse. Anyone else had this problem? If I remeber right, every time this occurs I was doing punch in/out recordings.

Everything just freezes and if a note/notes have been played they are left sustaining. Rebooting with the power button helps, but data is lost.

I can live with this problem (just have to save regulary), but I'm worried something like this will happend on stage. Has anyone had the Pa600 crash during song/style playback??? I'm thinking of recording every song as wav to some extrnal drive so if the keyboard crashes when on stage I have some backup Smile

I've had mine crash a few times when left on for long periods of time. I've had hung notes when playing MIDIs that were not created on the PA600. I think strange SYSEX commands at play there. I use the SHIFT + STOP key sequence to recover.

Thank you for the reply. The shift+stop combo doesn't work for me.

Sometimes everything works a bit sluggishly before crash. I've been guessing that there is somekind of temporary memory (for all unsaved changes/data, in this case the whole song thats being worked on) that gets overflooded, causing the crash. The kb has usually been on for quite a long time before freezing, I will start doing occasional rebooting when on stage. Maybe this could be helped with a software update....

With me, occurred the same problem, since I bought the PA300 at 2 months ago. I dont know if it problem on crash memory on sequencer works or problem of oscillation of power voltage. That is Korg's failure and this should never occurs. Nonsense if this happens in shows.

Be sure to power cycle the keyboard (any keyboard) before a show. Do not use any MIDIs or Styles you haven't already tested as OK.

In engineering there is a law of diminishing returns. Adding additional error checking code does come at a cost. Many manufacturers are happy with no error checking assuming the user will only use the device the way they designed it.

Memory leaks that cause system crashes are a totally different matter and must be fixed.

By the way, my advice for using SHIFT-STOP in my post above was only meant to be used for hung notes while playing a MIDI files.
