Hi

Please suggest me a DAW to edit styles. I understand the process is exporting a style as midi, edit the contents, set the markers and save it as style file. I would like to know the following:-

1) Which DAW can do this job. I need a DAW only to edit style add markers and save it as style file for Korg. Need the lowest priced DAW to get it done. How about Sonar home studio49.99 $. Or any better option.

2) How to export style file as midi file to open in DAW.

3) How save it as a style file compatible for Korg back from midi to style file.

4) What are the points to be remembered to keep the file compatible to work as a style file in Korg. Like arranging the music in a particular chord like C Major or avoiding some notes form the scale to get it sound OK in all the chords....etc.

Exporting and Editing an existing Style:

When you export it as Midi, it already has all the markers for whatever CVs that are available within that particular Style. You can add or edit them in your DAW if you wish.

That would be something similar to this:

If you want to edit a Midi file and turn it into a Style, then you might want to check these out:

....More will be added.

........

I don't know about Sonar, but looks like some users had real nice things to say about "Reaper".

Thanks for the great reply...

Would like to know which DAW offer more easy and straight forward process to get it done.

Names seen in the forums are Sonar, Reaper, Protocols...etc. I am an FL Studio user. And I believe FL Studio doesn't support midi markers to edit style file. It works in a different way...

Expecting expert suggestions from experienced Users

None of the major DAWs fit in this category. In any case, if you're only doing midi, then every DAW has own shortcuts that make things happen in a certain way. It's all about you learning those techniques. It also has EVERYTHING to do with musicianship as well. Hopefully others will come up with better suggestions...

By lowest I mean comparatively lowest. Reaper is lowest priced DAW at 49.99$... Cubase elements at 99$... I need only basics...my main DAW is FL Studio...
