Hello,
I'm a great fan of Caravan since their beginning.
I would like to play with the souds of Dvid Sinclair.
He had a modified Hammond B3. Sometimes, there is some distorsion and even wah-wah.
I have a Kronos 2.
I did, of course, some tests. It's not really that.
For those who doesn't know Caravan (are really some?), you can heat this

I have two questions:
- I need a prog or combi with those sounds
- I want to modify the upper keyboard split organ sound in the combi I-A 045: KE Knife Edge Split.

What an incredibly "white" sounding fusion band haha. I also hear distortion, wah, sometimes a phaser, and I think more scanner vibrato than leslie. Unfortunately I think it's going to be really hard (or impossible) to nail a sound like this because it means modeling an entire series of interconnected vintage equipment, none of which you know the exact settings or properties of, let alone that you even have similar sounding ones in te Kronos. In this specific case you're also hampered by the fact that distortion/overdrive is one of the Kronos' weaker points. Whether you can get "close enough" is up to you I guess. If you have access to a tube guitar amp that might get you a lot closer already.

2:59 to 4:27 sounds just like an organ through distortion. This should be easy to get on the Kronos. What people forget is pre and post EQ can radically change the sound of the distortion.
Yeah it has some delay etc... but it seems like you can get this sound with pre and post eq and the tube amp simulator.

Maybe instead of trying to "nail" the old sounds, do something like they did later on. This is them in the early 90's.

I really don't mean to disrespect anyone's heroes but am I the only one who can't stand the timing of the guitarist and keyboard player? It completely stops me from enjoying what they're trying to do.

I'm not offended. I just know about them from very many years ago and I guess about a decade or so ago I ran across a used cd of theirs so I bought it. Don't forget though, way back in the dark ages, meter was, well, let's just call it iffy at best for a lot of bands.

Hello,
Of course, I know what they did after this period. But it's an old challenge with some friends: one of these days, I'll play like that !
Many very good souvenirs but not only. I like how he plays, and,of course, his unique sound.
You can find Keith Emerson sounds in the Kronos, why not him?
It's a kind of long time joke with some friends.
For private use only, for fun and make the progressive-rock still alive.
And also, what is very important, for learning how to deal with the effects of the Kronos.

Hello,
I've mainly played with my Kronos since I have it.
Forget the vintage sound face of my question.
Think about it as an exercise that I want to do.
It's a differerent point of vue, I know what I want but I don't know how to do. That's all.
Now, I want to go deeper in my keyboard.
After that, I hope to be able to go further and enjoy my Kronos much more.
It's complex, many people told me before I bought it. Maybe it's the reason why I've not choosed a Nord !

1:05 on the first link sounds like a guitar through the Steiner's master touch. It was a breath controlled pedal - the "trumpet" like attack gives it away. I have one - it basically made everything sound something like a trumpet.

Other sounds are an organ through something like a Fuzz Face. You can hear the germanium transistors - the biasing....
