Probably because of declining sales. Same reason every other keyboard eventually gets discounted.
I wouldn't see this as bad news. It's just normal business.
I wish KORG would do the same with the KRONOS and release it's successor. 64bit OS please and space for truck loads of RAM.

This isn't really news anymore, they announced they were phasing out the Voyager line almost two years ago I think. They had to make some room in their line-up, the new/old Mini and the cheaper models are taking market share. |

From what i have read seen and heard form other the Sub37 is a hit, if so it was bound to steal some market share from the more expensive lines. Voyager XL was anything but inexpensive. |

We're curious to see what's behind the curtain this year at MoogFeast, we're not sure if Dave Smith's appearance is a hint or not ... _________________ Korg Kronos II - Instant Karma's Gonna Get You, Synth Wars - The Rise of the KARP 2600, OBX8 Kenobi - The Return of the Synth, KARP & Odyessey, Moog One - The Poly Menace, Vintage 2016 Model D, Voyager of Sinbad XL, Fooger Family of Six, Three Mothers Like No Others, Naboo Royal MiniTaur, MoogClaraVox, Criklon V2, in living color, Elektron RytmII Avenue, Neuman U67 |

moog and ds..
who knows... so many buy outs these days...
would be cool if korg bought them as well!!
wish korg would do a 2600 arp as new...
with memory it would be a cool item!!
or just make the filters and osc as an option in the chips...
aturia kinda did that.... not sure if origin captured the sounds perfectly...
it is on my list to buy... _________________ my site klimaco.net

In that annocentment they mention awailability of parts.
Maybe the main reason might be that they no more can get some parts which needed to build that synthesizers. And Moog cannot build it's own factory just to make that parts. At list for now. _________________ https://слово-божье.рф

I just really dislike that cheap toys. Even if they are analog. I wish manufactors would go foward and improve but not going backwards and make it worse.
For example computer automation of all parameters of analog instrument would be intresting thing.
Just imagen a convenience of computer editor but sound of analog.
But as far as i know almost nobody did it. Only in analog consoles they just starting to use this technology.
Or one of Bösendorfer real piano ( if i am not wrong P290 Imperial Bösendorfer) can play by it self by inserting MIDI from computer. _________________ https://слово-божье.рф

I would be pretty confident is saying, not in the context our thinking. They will do the same thing every other keyboard manufacture does. They will run their stock levels down to a point where they only have enough components remaining to honor warranty support.
Not to mention the fact that it would be universally stupid to ask people to buy a new keyboard that had parts availability issues.
This product has been running 7 years. This is nothing but business as usual.

I think its a question of sales and money. Management types run these co's.
IMO, to do a next gen Kronos 'right ' ( all the needed features/new OS/hardware) will cost a lot of $$$$. Thus making for an expensive new product.
My guess is that scenario will not happen. Korg will not roll the big fuzzy dice.
If anything, it will be a cheaper investment cost , slightly more powered re-iteration of todays Kronos. If this guess is close, it might not be exciting enough due to short cuts/features left on the tale/drawing board. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

If your right, for me it would mean Game Over when it comes to workstations. The KRONOS would be my last workstation and I would put in serious effort into making native instruments Kontakt seamless as my main instrument.
Only reason why I'm actually holding off right now is because Musikmesse is so close.

I agree with you, brother. We have waited this long, 3 more months is around the corner.
am also thinking transition to my upgraded MBP/software. I would much rather be on a platform that is future proof.
We already know Karma is dead ended on the Kronos, for example. I am reluctant to blow money on any sample libs for the Kronos if I turn the page to another platform. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I remember with introduction of Moog reissue of Moog Modular in one of their interviews Moog representative was asked a question: how many of this unit will be build? And the answer from them was pretty clear: we building them until parts are lasting. Also some parts are no more made so we are searching for them around the world to find.
So that might be a case with Voyager XL too. _________________ https://слово-божье.рф
