The latest OS works very unstable - sometimes it does nothing at all - sometimes it says 'please switch off - wait some time and switch on' - sometimes it plays but the knobs are not working anymore.

Never happens in previous firmware.

Hope they fix it soon.

That's not going to be related to the software update. It sounds to me like a hardware problem.

Noted you have an original Kronos.

Question.
When you applied the os update, did you also by chance try to use the recent Firmware update as well ?
(This is meant for the the K2 version only).

Not sure if the older Kronos would ignore or try to incorporate it....??

Have you already done a Firmware update in the past ?

I may be way off here, but just a thought.

One way of reinstalling older os versions is to use the dvd disk method, which would be the basic one, then install an os of choice...there's no need to install each one in sequence of release.

Best Wishes.

Where does one download this mythical O.S. 3.12? I can't find the link
to download the latest Kronos software anymore. Not the manual - the actual
O.S.

The Kronos X downloads webpage is at:

http://www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/79/

The page is built dynamically from a number of elements essentially pulled from a database, and not very efficiently, so the page can take a while to load fully. Sometimes 10s of seconds, maybe even longer on slow internet connections and slow computers.

The link to download the the latest sub-system firmware (v6.04) is near the bottom of the download page, once it finishes loading.

If v6.04 subsystem firmware is installed, the screen comes up with icons representing the nine synth engines a few seconds after powering up the keyboard. If you can't see these icons, and just a relatively plain boot up screen, then the firmware upgrade can be done. Don't use the subsytem firmware upgrade for the Kronos 2. It's not recommended, and probably won't install.
