Does a Nanopad plug directly into the Kronos via USB and take the place of the chordpads?

No need for a computer, or an interface, or software.
Just plug nanopad into KRONOS USB, and your good to go.

That is if you are refering to NANOPAD2.
I have NANOPAD2, and it works that way.
I do not know about the original NANOPAD.

So you aren't surprised when it arrives...

+ When you plug in the nanopad2 the top row of 8 pads become the Kronos 8 pads - this is always so
+ the lower row of 8 and the XY thing operate as normal - you can program them using the PC software (nanopad will remember) and set up different scenes to switch between using the buttons on the nanopad.

I have my nanopad attached just above the knobs on the left using velcro. Works a treat.

Another advantage of using the Nanopad is having the ability to play several pads at once (which can't be done from the display. It also functions very well for triggering and controlling RPPR patterns.

Update on the Nanopad2 - I finally got it mounted. I fabricated an arm that holds it about 1/2 inch below the keybed just in front of the lowest octave of my 73. Programmed some chords into it, including a few that my hands can't naturally reach. This thing is really cool. Thnx to all for the input and encouragement. 4God

I have the nanopad2, and love the chord feature. The default assignment for the other pads are single notes, which is rather useless. Being new to Kronos and the pad, anyone have interesting suggestions for what to use the other 8 pads for? (brief tip on how to accomplish such assignment would be appreciated too!)

Also, do the small buttons on the nanopad2 do anything with the Kronos?
