Like the cinematic sounds, this is coming in a group of three where I'll post a patch a day. This first one is the most basic and is probably a sound you're already familiar with. I show an example of my custom version in the beginning and then do a run down of the basic patch.
Shoutout to Dan Worrall who introduced me to this technique. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Been using mod-7 a lot lately and doing that patch helped me understand the maco editing a bit better. It's probably the best FM synthesis engine in the world imo... even over the likes of Sytrus, Nemesis or FM8.
That being said, the chain in that patch is basic subtractive synthesis. Nothing fancy. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Mod-7 is also my favourite engine, mainly because you can make drastic tonal changes with sliders for some great evolving tones.
Being one of the least explored engines, thanks for this and
any future videos/ tutorials you do. _________________ DX7-MOD-7 Patches | Korg Related Content

Thank you for the praise, Amit! Going to post the next tutorial in just a second. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Here is the second of three "cold" themed sounds. I attempted the sound of "thawing", you'll see. If you'd like, skip to 10:54 to hear a finalized version of the sound.
Tomorrow's patch is going to be really fun as it's a whole soundscape. It will also make for a good segue into a few more patches of that sort. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

Thank you, Dniss. I honestly don't mean to keep using MOD-7 for these tutorials! That engine just seems to always have what I need. The next tutorial later today and tomorrow will use it... but I might be able to get away with AL-1 for the third soundscape coming up. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro
