Is it possible to use Karma (or some other means) to set up a harmony line?

If I'm playing a horn section or a mono synth line, sometimes you want to add a harmony. Setting up a seperate timbre and adjusting the pitch doesn't work, because the intervals between the base note and the harmony will vary, depending on the scale. Where the range of notes played is relatively small, I've done it by creating a timbre for each harmonised note and adjusting the pitch accordingly, but this quickly uses up my available timbres and is quite time consuming

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I am not clear what you want to ' hear ' since harmony can be arranged in several ways.

You mentioned horn section so I will suggest from there.

You could strike the pads ( 1-Cool and see what note values are used
in the Karma GE tab.

I use the nano pad frequently when creating interesting harmonies and open voiced chords. Plus you can roll your own pad chords.

No extra timbres are used on the above.

In the SEQ , I also use 2 programs for similar AP's or even trumpets to fatten the texture. Playing around with the micro tuning is effective.

There is even a detune FX to be inserted for a Program/timbre.

He wants to add a harmonising pitch to his melody - which is hard to do as some notes will be thirds and others not depending on the scale. I know of no automatic way of acieving this - it was often called 'duet' on arrangers. You can add fixed intervals easily enough but this won't work except for an octaves shift. Setting 3rd's and fifth's won't do it.

I'd also like to know if it's possible somehow in realtime?

I think there are a few karma ge's that you can twiddle around.

Once again Mr Kay comes to rescue : https://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20254

I should have known! I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he's talking about - it's certainly what I'm talking about!
Wink
I'd totally given up trying to achieve this - you made my day!

Thank you for the link amit (I hope the OP is as happy as I am right now) - good old Stephen Kay again! So useful this feature. You think I emphasised it enough yet? Very Happy

Thanks Amit! I really didn't think was possible. I'll work my way through he tutorial in detail, but from a quick read it looks perfect. I'm not a big user of Karma, so hadn't come across this site before.

As I'm playing the solo line on another keyboard (midi into the Kronos), I imagine I'll need to spend a bit more time getting my head around this, but it's a great feature.

Thanks again for providing the link.
