Hello,
I'm fairly new to making music. I'm basically looking for an instrument that will allow me to create groovy, bass filled hip-hop beats, and rap/sing...with loop capabilities in a live setting. Like Reggie Watts or Beardyman.
I gravitate more to harder, bass sounds that people can "get down" to...as opposed to robotic electronic/trance style of music.
The K-Pro+ seems to have a mix of hip hop and electronic, but it also seems to lean more heavily on the robotic sounding side?
So, for someone like me who's new to creating music (I do play a little guitar), I was wondering if you'd recommend the K-Pro+ to start off with...or perhaps a different instrument to create that deep, hip hop loop sound I'm looking for. At some point, I would like to throw the KP3 into the mix.
I appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Thank you!

Hi Michael,
I'd recommend posting this on the kaoss thread for more replies.
To answer I prefer kaoss pad 3 for looping and find the kaossilator mini and kp3 great ,with no need for KO pro.
The KO is capapable of less trance ,more hip-hop bass IMHO if you produce that way. It has capable synth sounds.
Welcome and good luck. |

Thanks Spheric El!
I saw a guy using a KO Pro pad and KP3 pad together live, and he was killing it. He suggested I start off with the KO Pro to learn beat making, and then get more instruments (like the KP3, etc.) down the road.
I'm pretty clueless, but I just want to improvise live on the streets and just make music and improvise over it with my voice, like that guy was doing.
But yeah, thanks for the reply...and I'll post in the kaoss threads! |
