When edit style after finish and write style exit from edit and go to style play mode. Now split buton don't work. No i go press sound mode and back to style play mode to turn on split buton. _________________ Trajche TALE Dimitriev

The factory style 'Moving Forward' in Pop, variation 2, playing a minor chord:-
This plays 8 measures and one silent measure - think it is just one measure too long i.e. is 9 - should be 8
Cheers

|
|
I recall with earlier versions of PA4x
I simply held down a chord and hit transpose +1 and it automatically transposed.
now I seem to have to take my fingers off the chord and then play it again after hitting transpose and then it works
its not smooth this way
anyone having this problem
thanks

Instrument: Korg pa4x Musikant
OS: 2.0.0
Split function stops working when you perform below steps
How to recover bug on its own pa4x?
1 Choose any factory style you like
2 Go to Record and make small modification (for instance delete drum track from VAR1)
3 Save style into the User Style area.
4 Exit from Style Record
5 Check if Split LED button is ON (generally is not) try to active split (it is not possible)
When you turn off and next turn on the instrument, everything works normally.
Can someone confirm above?
I have checked twice. Everytime the final result was the same. In my opinion that’s the bug. _________________ Korg pa5x vs Genos 2 - spec comparison |

I think somebody was thinking of a song when it was created and for some part of the song there is 9 measures when you play Dm. If you analyze the song it only happens if you play Dm on measure 8 going into 1. If you don't play Dm it only uses 8 measures. I don't know how they achieved it but it could be a great tool.

It's all done via the brilliant Chord Variations
It's a simple mistake where they set VAR 2 CV2 to 9 measures - all you need to do is edit the style and change VAR2 CV2 to 8 measures, overwrite the style ("write") and it will all work perfectly.
This is a bonus style and so available to be overwritten (i.e. not factory)
Minor chords (not just Dm) are mapped to CV2
Cheers

There is a less significant bug that is still present in latest OS v2.0.1
When you enter in STYLE/Record mode the pre-selected (before entering to variation) entry data is lost when style is saved back !
Example , if a custom style has been already saved with intro 2 entrance and Var 1 as the final destination , then after just entering
Record Edit (without playing style) and write back style , then "intro 2" entry before Var 1 is lost.
If under Record/Elements Trk Controls , you re-enter this entry then it will be saved properly ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

SOLVED
Manual incomplete: Pa4X_User_Manual_v2_0_E13
The sound list (page 975) with corresponding LSB,MSB and Program change information is incorrect, the OS2.0 sounds are missing in that list
For instance the new italian piano is missing.
Edit: Sorry my mistake! they are in a separate section on page 1002

Hi Qui
I also thought it had been omitted and just by chance I performed a text search in the PDF for "Italian" and eventually found it!!!
Cheers

Posted: Mon Aug 21, 2017 10:53 am Post subject: Compression function odd behavior |
|
|
There is an odd compression function behavior in Pa4X OS v2.0.1 concerning samples size !
- Under empty Ram , if you import a sample of 11 seconds time duration (1Mb) and you execute "compress all samples" then sample
will be compressed , but if you try to re-save sample with compressed box clicked then it can't be compressed !
- If you do the same with a 9.2 seconds duration sample , then both functions will work fine !
- If you import a custom sound with 88 samples of 9 seconds time duration and try to execute "compress all samples" then you get the
familiar message that samples are too big to be compressed !
So , actually I never know how compression function will work in samples size > 8 seconds of time duration , where in a SET compression
and after executing initial "compress all samples" , I had to save PCM of SET , restart Pa4X , load back PCM and then execute back
"compress all samples" for many times until SET to be completely compressed where samples > 0.8Mb < 1Mb were involved !
This do not happen in the compression function we knew in Pa3X where a constant behavior of samples size compression was taking
place for 1Mb size limit per sample !
I strongly believe that something is wrong in programming code lines and buffer memory there and must be addressed soon !
The importance of using compression function is strictly for big samples f.e. of a acoustic instrument and it's a shame to be restricted
at 850 KB sample size for compression in the age of streaming samples from disk , in an arranger flagship like Pa4X ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer
