-I think that the balance between style tracks and upper voices has changed after updating to v2.01. Now the upper tracks are to loud!! That's more obvious after loading user set!
-Also, all user songbook entries that used Dance styles have to be saved again because they don't sound right after the update!!Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Regards,
Dimitris

PostPosted: Sat Aug 26, 2017 10:09 am    Post subject: Bug in V2.0.1? Style to kbd set Link Reply with quote

Hello there,

I have Pa4X Musikant with OS 2.0.1. And with V2 i encounter the follwing problem (not with previous os):
With the button "style to kbd set link" NOT activated, with a selection of a different style there should be no change in kbd set (s. User manual 2.0 p 155).
But in my case, the kbd set is always changed , no matter, wich status the button has (on off or blinking).

Whats wrong? Bug? Or am i mistaken?

Greetings from gernany

You could try a clean installation of 2.0.1

I do not have this problem in 2.0.1

Cheers

The updates are cumulative but I would recommend that you download fresh copies of V2 and v2.0.1 from Korg website
Install the V2 update - remembering to perform the factory restore as per the instructions.
Then install the 2.0.1

Let us know how it goes...

There still seems no way to "clear" a linked text file in a SONGBOOK entry - there's a "reset" which clears the reference but next time you use the entry the previous text reference is still there despite "writing" the changes.

I have gotten around this by creating a "no-content" text file called "no_lyrics.txt" and just using that to effectively remove any previously linked file.
Not a major issue - just thought I'd mention it.

PostPosted: Tue Aug 29, 2017 3:45 pm    Post subject: Style to Keyboardset link Reply with quote

Hello there,

And here ist the answer to my previous posted question by the german korg support (many thanks to Alex Hinz):

The user manual is not precise:
It says at p. 55:
With the "kbdset to link" indicator off, "Styles do not select a Keyboard Set."

But, as a matter of fact, what happens is more complicated:

When i change the style, it is selected, and in the display is shown the actual keyboardset Left unchanged with its four sounds in the right upper corner of the display. Also are shown the 4 NEW keyboardsets shown in the bottom area, but none of them is selected. So i can play with the previous sound and select a new keyboard set, whenever i want to.
I thought, there would no change at the keyoardsets at all.

And so once again: it's not a bug, it's a feature!

Many thanks for your help!

Greetings

That's correct.
Actually what ever the os version it was always functioning the same way in Pa4X, it is designed that way, not a bug. Even it functions the same way in Pa900.
Just my two cents....

PostPosted: Wed Aug 30, 2017 10:29 pm    Post subject: Bug in Clef drop-down option on Score Page? (Song Play mode) Reply with quote

Hi all, unless I'm totally misunderstanding how it should work, I believe that the Clef option in the score page (when playing a midi file in song play mode) doesn't work how I'd expect it to.

I would expect that when you select i.e. Treble +8 that the note on the score would be one octave higher. It appears, however, that the note is lowered by one octave instead. And the opposite happens when you select Treble -8 (i.e. the notes on the score are raised by an octave).

The same thing happens on the Bass -8 setting.

I considered that this was some high-level theory stuff that was blinding me with science but have come the conclusion that it may, in fact, simply be a bug (i.e. that these settings have been reversed by mistake).

FYI, page 96 of the manual describes the Treble +8 setting as "Treble clef with transposition one octave upper".

Can anyone else confirm that this is, in fact, a Bug.

Thanks,
Jon

In the Shape Dance Style (one of the new user styles that came with 2.0) three out of the four keyboard sets - "Running Bpm, Leadscape and Spire Synth" all having missing/broken links to non existent user sounds.

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

I can confirm that ( PA4X MUSIKANT, 2.0.1 ).

The sounds are linked to user-space without any sounds...

Hi Jon/Snoopy

Definitely a glitch when Korg set up this style but easily fixed in about a minute:-
1. In style play mode, select "Shape Dance"
2. Select KEYBOARD-SET "Running bpm" from the KEYBOARD-SET library (NOT from the STS button)
3. Top-right drop-down menu select "Write keyboard set to style"
4. Select STS "2 Running bpm" as the destination (i.e. overwrite that STS)

Repeat 1-4 for any other STS-kbd-set that's missing sounds e.g. STS 4 "Spire Synth"

5. Top-right drop-down menu select "Write current style settings"
6. Remember to save to media as these changes are only internal

All should now sound OK
Hope this helps

Did you find any other STYLEs with this problem?

Cheers

Pete Very Happy

Hi Pete,

I just tried all of the 52 user styles, the "shape dance" was the only one with that "error" Wink
