Hi -- I have foot switch to do drop-ins and for some reason it requires two clicks to drop in and two to drop out. Is there some setting I can change for this?

Not sure what drop ins and outs you are doing, but in general with setting up controllers, there is also the "action" of the controo such as a switch or a pedal. Momentary and toggle are the usual action settings if they are available with the control setting parameters.
Also pairing controls and functions are not always so compatible. Sometimes better to have a slider than a switch. Sometimes better to have an expression type pedal than a switch type pedal. So when you get these kinds of incompatibilites, the minor cases can be sorted out with setting action to momentary or toggle to see if there is a fix or if neither makes a difference and you just need to try a different control. Polarity is another thing but that doesn't seem to affect things in the way you are describing.

Maybe your control set up has action setting beyond just toggle and momentary?
Maybe your pedal has some setting features built in? Maybe the pedal is faulty?
I had a bad sustain pedal that was also acting strange but when i plugged the cheap pedal into a cheap casio, it worked fine. I got another sustain/switch pedal of a different brand and all was well plus it had better sustain response then my original pedal when new out of the box. My berlin grand seemed to always have shorter sustain than what i was used to, right from day one. Turns out the cheap pedal was not getting a good response from Kronos.

Where are you setting the pedal function up at? Global? AMS? Karma?
Drop in and out is sequencer, right? Sounds like a global setting to assign pedal. I will go check it out in the parameter guide.

Thanks for your very detailed reply. I'm using the pedal switch in sequencer mode to do drop ins in vocal audio tracks. The pedal is a dedicated drop in pedal switch that came with a Fostex 8-track tape machine from the 1980s. I'm going to investigate the situation based on what you've said.

Good to know that.
When i get back to my Kronos, i have to get new pedals too. I am going to make sure that i get only Korg pedals for Kronos from now on.
