First of a three parter. I'll post the other two in this thread when I make them.
Some important information about how the Ring Mod works on the MS-20. It defaults both oscillators to square waves. Osc 1 retains it's variable pulse width control. I do a direct comparison with AL-1 to prove what's happening. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

You know if there ever were to be an update for the Kronos I'd really like to see the added features of the MS-20M Kit incorporated into the engine. It wouldn't need the PWM jack since that's taken care of by AMS, nor would it need the features of the SQ1. Would be cool to see the oscillator sync and FM as well as filter change switches. That would make the MS-20EX the definitive version of the MS-20.
EDIT: On second thought... even though said features would carry a different flavor from AL-1... AL-1 has all those bases covered. What would be a neat feature request would be the ability to route the sync/FM order in AL-1. AL-1 applies both oscillator sync and FM to Osc 2. Other synths like the Radias and DSN-12 apply cross modulation (FM) to Osc 1 while applying sync to Osc 2. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro

There is something I messed up on (maybe two things but the other one doesn't really matter). The ring mod setup in MS-20 behaves super strange in that the pulse width control on oscillator 1 seems to fade up the signal of oscillator 2. At first I thought it was simply an AM configuration but it's not! I was only able to mimic the same sound on AL-1 by assigning a macro to the pulse width of osc 1 and mix level of osc 2 so that when the osc 1 pw was pushed to the point of zero output osc 2 would have it's gain all the way up in the mixer. Very strange! _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro
