|
|
I come from a Tyros performance user and I always play like a real group that musicians play the same instruments all the time. I need to change styles only while keeping my 4 keyboard sets, but every time I change to another style, the style brings it's own keyboard sets and the group I need took me too much time programming it as to repeat it every time. It's there a way to save the 4 keyboard sets as a group so I can apply it to new styles and save them to my Songbook and List? |

Solution:
Saving your 4 keyboard sets in Keyboard Set Library.
For ex;
I've already saved 8 keyboard sets (previously called STS in older Pa models) in Piano category Page 1 that are available
with any style I choose, very practical and fast for recalling sounds (less navigation through the pages and less pressing buttons).
Hope that helps.

Yes, but how do you do it? I've done that and it saves together with the style I've programmed it but if I change to another style it changes the whole set. There's no way to assign the same set to another style, or at least I don't know how to.
Can you tell me how it's done? |

Press the button "Style to keyboard set" until the light goes out
(on - flash- off) and style will not change the keyboard sets.
find "variation 4" button, above that is "Auto fill", above that is "Style to keyboard set" _________________ Pa5x-76, Pa4x-76, Pa3x-76, Pa1x-pro, Korg i3, 2 x Korg i30, Roland Bk-9, Yamaha sy85, Kawai K1 mk2, Roland D-05,JP-08 (x2), JU-06 and JX-03, JU-06A,TR-08,TR-09, VP-03,K-25M (x5), JU-06A

It wont change the set I'm playing but it'll change the other three (They're 4 sets for each style). No way to save all 4 sets to another style unless I reprogram them again. Either that or I'm not understanding the procedure.
Actually it does change all 4 names, although the set I was playing keeps on playing, but it'll go away if you recall any other set of the new style.
I'm talking about the 4 Kbd Sets with 4 sounds each (LWR.UP1, UP2, UP3)
Looking at the main Style play screen what I need ALL to look the same when using different styles. |

From Pa4X User's Manual, page 186:
Writing the Keyboard Sets to the library
Keyboard Sets can store the Keyboard Sounds and settings.
The library is where you organize them by type and family. You can recall these Keyboard Sets by using the KEYBOARD SET LIBRARY buttons.
Note: All changes will be lost when choosing a different Keyboard Set, unless you write them. Changes can normally only be saved onto the User or Direct Keyboard Sets.
Writing a Keyboard Set
Open the Write Keyboard Set to Library dialog from the control panel
▪ While in Style Play or Song Play mode, keep any of the KEYBOARD SET LIBRARY buttons pressed for about one second.
Open the Write Keyboard Set to Library dialog from the display
▪ While in Style Play or Song Play mode, choose the Write Kbd Set to Library command from the page menu.
Write over the same User Keyboard Set
▪ If you want to overwrite the current User Keyboard Set, just touch the OK button.

It doesn't work, I can only save and write the Set #1 not the others. |

Save each set to keyboard set library from the top right dropdown to the keyboard set user bank of your choosing.Thereafter touch bottom left corner by KBD in green letters which will take you to the bank-Terry |

I've made a tutorial , where this is explained ...
Any saved SET , direct or not , have individual properties that are saved in its unique Global file and are recalled when this SET
is assigned as "Direct" , so if you want the same adjusted properties for all SETs then copy or save the same Global file into all these SETs.
But do it only if those SET are made with Pa4X V2 !
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

You can copy sets individually or all 4 from one style to another in songbook editor on computer, highlight and right click to edit.Perhaps this may be more useful to you-Terry |

I have edited the factory Keysets to automatically load my favorite sound in each bank. I put the sounds I want in the number one position. For example if I want "my" Piano sound, all I have to do is touch the Piano Bank in Keysets.
You don't have to stay with what's in the Bank; you can put any sound you like in any bank by first disabling the Factory protection. _________________ DonM |

Dear AntonySharmman, I'd be very happy if I could have access to your tutorial but again there's no link to it. I get lots of ideas but no links or tutorials of how to do it. I have even read posts that talk wonders about your sounds and Producer packages I personally would like to purchase but not a single link to where I can obtain it.
Others recommend using the Songbook editor but since I download it all I get is a blank screen with lots of tabs but nothing in it! I've followed all instructions in the manual and no success. It's still blank. There's no tutorial videos of anything regarding the PA4X and it's new v2.0 or 2.0.1, by the way, this is the only version I know, I just purchase it brand new last week.
I want to explain that I've never been a hard to learn person, as a matter of fact I'm a retired computer specialist and I can get along with computers very well, I'm amazed that this is happening to me. Never used Korg before but it can't be that hard. I believe that maybe Korg manage the OS in a whole different way as Yamaha or Roland which are the arrangers I've used before. But there must be a way to know where am I failing and where are the links to those tutorials and videos that can help me reach my goal step by step? I thank everybody from my heart for the effort and the time spent trying to help me. And please AntonySharmman, I need the link to that tutorial where I'm suppose to find my answer. I have no idea of where to find it! |

My tutorial are tips for upgrading to OS v2 , in 2 recent pages of topic list , but it's not for current time ,
we can help you to resolve this specific request of yours , so do the following :
- As you've said , you're using 4 SETs in "Direct mode" and you need the same preferences for all.
- You've also mentioned that you have already done it at SET No1 but it's better to create settings you
want again while in User mode , test KBD SET that works as you have adjusted settings (Using specific KBD SET library).
- Go to Media/SAVE/open All/click on Global file , select Save , browse all 4 SETs you're using as "direct" and save this file in all of them.
- Done , all SETs will work under the same preferences !
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer
