Hi ppl,

i'm doing my first steps with this MONSTER!
Can somebody help me with some basic things, before i do something wrong?

1) GLOBAL CHANGES ARE AUTOSAVINGS?
i have changed the settings in "GLOBAL" for the damper pedal polarity AND the switch pedal function (program up), but after switching off the Kronos and then on again those settings seems return to the factory state.
Do i must push some "save settings" buttons? Or check for some "memory protection" items?

2) PROGRAM O COMBI LIST PAGE
When i use the switch pedal to change a program and in the LCD i'm in the program or combi list page, the highlighted program don't go to the new UP program, but the sound changes. Is it normal?

3) USB FLASH DRIVE AND/OR EXTERNAL HDD (portable)
I have the idea of mounting a big (1Tb) secondary SSD inside the Kronos for any other stuff than factory, leaving the factory INTERNAL HDD untouched. I want to use the secondary SSD for new EXs library, samples, songs, midi and audio tracks and any staff that isn't "factory" (obiously: with a well categorized directory structure).
BUT - for now - i wanna only try the new KApro Exs19 (that it's free for the new Kronos) and i wouldn't mess with the INTERNAL HDD.
Can i install the EXs19 on a USB flash drive (8Gb)?

Tnx for any help!

Try doing a Save All after you make the changes and you should be fine.

you can't mess up with kronos ssds unless that is your intent in the first place.
I have my primary ssd for factory and exs libraries , but also use the secondary for that. Just Install exs 19 and any factory banks in your primary as there is a lot of room on that and the empty space is not doing you any good.

The secondary works for all my recordings as well as custom pcg's and sample libraries.

My Secondary is 240 gig and is more than enough for me.
I never archive my stuff on active disks. All old and archival stuff gets backed up to a 2TB USB3.0 external disk through FTP and my PC where it's safe.

to save global changes you need to use save global data under menu. or save the pcg with the globals checked.

How difficult is it to user-install a secondary SSD in the Kronos ?

Does it void the warranty when opening it up ?

Is there mounting hardware already inside for a secondary SSD ?

Thanks,
JT

If you have plenty of warranty, I would hesitate on the 2nd SSD.

But if you really had to have the 2nd SSD I suppose thats the risk you would take.

Suggest you look at the YT videos for SSD install to determine the degree of difficulty plus time involved.

My K2 did not have a second sata cable.
It does have a bay where you can insert the second set.
I screwed it on one side and used blu-tack on the other side to keep it seated and fixed.
Kronos does not like the cables swapped so if your primary disk is on secondary port keep it on secondary. And boot up Kronos. If it boots up then good, otherwise swap .

Yes, you'd lose warranty if the disk is not installed by a Korg auth dealer/service.

If one, like me, want a very big sounds palette (means many EXs and samples galore from AKAI libraries or selfproduct and room for recording audio and midi tracks) a big secondary disk is mandatory i think.

Adding a new SSD is not an hard task: just like to add an HDD to a PC (that the Kronos is, keybed a part).

AND inside thate are 2 usb ports too that you can fill with minisized flash drives.

If you want buy a sata cable is better the one whit a pipe connector on one side
