First jam. A single 4 bar pattern with all 16 parts filled. Captured with the Event Recorder, warts-and-all, then audio out into my ipad and recorded with Auria DAW app. A little mix bus compression and limiting added and there we go. _________________ If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.
Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad. |

Another jam recorded by the Event Recorder on the new Electribe. A little mix compression and limiting added in Auria DAW on the ipad.

^ Nice spacey sounds you squeeze out of this little box! Your other jam reminded me a bit of some old Gridlock tracks, great stuff. The event recorder is pretty good, hope they add some overdubbing/edit feature to it. I still need to learn which knobs not to touch whilst recording |

^ That's even shorter than my clip
Just sharing this for fun, for some reason it didn't record the audio in whilst exporting.
https://clyp.it/51tnlaqc
More minimalism for me. The little clicks the synth engine sometimes makes can add a bit of character from time to time, I'm not annoyed by them but I've read some others are. I think all synths pretty much do this. Digital or analog. I hope Korg will allow adjusting the anti-aliasing though, they could call it an detamer.
I am amazed by the amount of sounds this little box can generate. Even using the same saw or size on different parts with different modulation types and effects can give you a huge palet of sound. Pretty cool. Now all it need is unlimited bars and a partyhard mode for the lights |

Thank you, it's mainly mellow due to the loss of the crazy Animoog audio, haha. It's a fun way to create new stuff by playing around rather than trying to do something. Edutainment.
I added some more layers, but now the Animoog needs taming and variation. Still trying to work out the best way to add melodies; using different parts (mute/unmute) or patterns. Guess whatever works, works.
What I like about these kind of groove boxes is that they're creative tools and therefore no single guide or manual will be able to fully explore all the possibilities. How you finally wind up using it will depend greatly on your own imagination and music.
(blatantly stolen from another groove box manual ) |
