Korg R3 USB/MIDI not working under OSX Sierra

Post by The Jeep »

Hi there good people, you know how it goes, you decide to dig out an old bit of gear that used to work fine and then it's not working and you spend ages trying to sort it out (unsuccessfully) and then decide to be smart and ASK someone! So here's my problem:

I've got a Mac Pro running OSX Sierra 10.12.6 (latest) and running Logic Pro X Ver 10.3.2 (latest) and I want to use my old Korg R3 synthesiser as a master keyboard. It used to work, presumably before various OS upgrades and I've downloaded the latest USB/MIDI driver, but nothing is working. The R3 is simply not recognised. Do I need to remove other existing drivers (if so, they're not in the MIDI Drivers folder in Library/Audio)? Does anyone know of any reason why this keyboard won't work - is it now unsupported? Seems odd that I can't get it to work.... so any ideas gratefully received, thank you.

Try this:
Wow, I finally fixed the issue!
I disconnected the Radias from the Mac, went to Audio MIDI Setup utility, opened the MIDI window and deleted the "Radias (Update)" device there as well as the Korg Taktile device that was there (because I had been using a Taktile keyboard). I then reconnected the Radias to the Mac and a new device appeared called "RADIAS #2" . Now I can play the Radias over USB by selecting the "RADIAS : Sound" port in whatever software I'm using.
Delete all Korg devices that appear in the MIDI setup window after disconnecting the Radias. (they will reappear once you re-connect them) and then re-connect the Radias first, followed by any other Korg USB devices (they all share the same driver).
